UWI Water Conferences
The Urban Water Institute (UWI) hosts two water conferences each year. The UWI Spring Conference is typically held in Palm Springs, California in mid to late-February. The UWI Annual Conference is typically held in San Diego, California in mid to late-August.
Both the Spring and Annual Water Conferences are three-day events featuring an impressive array of dynamic speakers and water management experts. Past speakers including top government officials, respected water consultants, pioneering water academics, water-related nonprofits, and other subject matter experts.
UWI strives to present thought-provoking and sometimes controversial panels involving speakers from a diverse range of backgrounds and perspectives. Many of our guest speakers are figures you won't find at typical water conferences!

2024 Conference Dates & Locations
The UWI 2024 Spring and Annual Conference dates are as follows:
- 2024 Spring Conference: February 21-23, 2024 @ Hilton Palm Springs, Palm Springs
- 2024 Annual Conference: August 21-23, 2024 @ Paradise Point Resort, San Diego
A limited number of discounted hotel room rates at the conference venues are available to attendees.
Who Attends UWI Conferences
UWI Conferences bring together elite water leaders from throughout California representing public, private, nonprofit and academic organizations.
Attendees return year-after-year for our top-tier conference programs and well as elite networking and business development opportunities with California's water leaders and top decision makers. The first two days of the conference typically conclude with a hosted cocktail reception where attendees can forge new relationships and reconnect with longtime water industry colleagues/friends.
Conference Program Information
The conference programs are developed in collaboration with our Board of Directors as well as conference attendee feedback/suggestions. The draft conference programs are posted to each conference's event page, where they are updated frequently as speakers are confirmed.
