In Memoriam of Jim Noyes

It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of James "Jim" Noyes.  Jim was an inspirational leader of UWI, serving first as a board member and Chair of the Board, and then as Executive Director. Jim continued to serve as Chairman Emeritus until 2018, when he and his wife Susan moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Jim's illustrious water career began in 1966 at the Los Angeles County Flood Control District, where he worked as a Civil Engineering Assistant. He excelled in his career, eventually becoming the Director of Public Works for Los Angeles County Public Works. 

Jim will always be remembered for his humor, integrity, kindness, and deep love for his family (wife: Susan; children: Megan, Christopher and Michael; grandchildren: Gianluca and Dante).

Memorial services were held on Friday, May 24 at Holy Angels Church in Arcadia, California.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jim’s name may be sent to City of Hope (1500 East Duarte Road, Duarte, CA 91010) or the Alzheimer’s Association (225 North Michigan Avenue, 17th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601).
